PMR 446 vs CB Radio

Lets look at the advantages of PMR 446 over conventional CB radio,when i say PMR 446 i don't mean handhelds,i'm talking about homebase set ups,just like CB radio but on PMR 446 mhz.

1. Antenna size,antennas at PMR 446 mhz are very small compared to CB radio (27 mhz)
2. White noise,there is no white noise on PMR 446,where as CB radio is full of noise
3. Ctcss,on PMR 446 mhz you can more or less have a private chat where you don't have to listen to music players or idiots,CB radio is full of noise,if it's not white noise coming from a tv it's a music player

Best pmr 446 mhz antenna ?

You can't beat a Beam antenna or a collinear for that matter,i've been playing around with pmr 446 mhz for ages now and know what it takes to make them long range contacts,the bottom line is to buy a collinear or beam that is designed for pmr 446 mhz,don't waste money on one of them ham radio dual band antennas they won't work good on 446mhz.
